According to the Birmingham Mail in an article titled ‘CCTV Clues to Vicious Assault Outside Birmingham City Centre Club’ published on September 19, police have released CCTV footage of a man who is suspected to have broken a 26 year old man’s jaw and cheek bone in an alleged assault.

According to the Birmingham Mail, the man needed extensive surgery following the incident which involved him allegedly being hit in the head until he fell unconscious. Police have released a CCTV image of a man and a woman they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. Leading the investigation is Detective Constable Justin Le Fort from West Midlands police who told the Birmingham Mail that:

“The man who was attacked is still on the long road to recovery. We’re working hard to find his attacker and have now released CCTV of a man and a woman who we want to speak to in connection with the crime. We believe that they will be able to help us solve the case once and for all.”

Following the attack, police have been in contact with the victim, as well as his friends and members of staff at the bar. Police hope that the information from witnesses, alongside the CCTV footage, will help resolve their investigation.

As experts in security systems, AlertSystems understand the importance of installing CCTV in locations such as bars. A representative for the company offered their comments:

“While owners of bars and night clubs will do everything in their power to ensure a safe environment for their customers, unfortunately incidents can occur which involve members of the public becoming injured. In such cases, the presence of a CCTV security system can offer evidence and information to police officers investigating the case, whilst helping them to identify those responsible.”
