Oracle Solaris 11 System Administration Training is Now Available at NetCom Learning
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 23, 2013 -- NetCom Learning, the leader in IT and business training, announces the launch of a new course: Solaris 11 System Administration. The new coursework is a practical hands-on class in systems administration of Sun Solaris networks. Students who successfully complete the class will gain the knowledge and expertise to be able to design and administer Sun Solaris network systems. The class will cover both SPARC-based and x86-based versions of Oracle Solaris 11 and students will work on Intel-based Oracle Solaris 11 systems to gain practical experience with the systems. In addition, students will be introduced to a variety of advanced topics in the Oracle Solaris 11 system administration. The new training classes are available in standard traditional class settings, Live Online Training (LOT), online anytime anywhere, in intensive bootcamps, and in customized or private training. It is recommended that students have taken the CompTIA A+ and Network+ prior to taking the new Solaris 11 training. The new coursework should be of interest to anyone who manages Solaris 11 SPARC or Intel systems including system administrators, and technical support staff.
The 7-day course provides training in the startup and shutdown of SPARC and X86 systems, the Service Management Facility, the Image Packaging System, UFS file systems, installation, creating user accounts, security, system processes, backups, network interfaces, ZFS file systems, Solaris 11 zones, virtual file systems, Distribution Constructor tool, boot environments, Automated Installer, swap space, Role Based Access Control, Network Traffic Failover, Auditing, Virtual Network, NFS environment, LDAP, and DTrace. Note the course does not prepare students to take the Oracle certification exam.
"We are pleased to add this course in Solaris 11 System Administration for those IT professionals who work with Oracle Solaris systems," said Russell Sarder, CEO of NetCom Learning. "The hands-on course provides the right tools for an individual to be able to get right in there and do the work of designing and managing a Sun Solaris network," said Sarder.
The Solaris system is a Unix type operating system that was originally created by Sun Microsystems but is now owned by the Oracle Corporation. The new Solaris system is characterized by innovative and creative features such as the Time Slider, ZFS and DTrace tools. The system is particularly known for its scalability.
