ACI Welcomes Host Sponsors and Contributing Supporter for California Conference
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) September 24, 2013 -- ACI (Affordable Comfort, Inc.) announced today that San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E) and Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas) will serve as host sponsors for the 2013 Regional Home Performance Conference in California. Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is also showing its dedication to growing the home performance industry in California by serving as a contributing supporter for the event, which will be held November 18–19 at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine in La Jolla, CA just outside of San Diego.
“ACI is proud to have support from these leaders in California’s utility industry,” said Warren Quinn, ACI’s chief executive officer. “Through their commitment as sponsors, SDG&E, SoCalGas, and PG&E are all demonstrating a sincere commitment to residential energy efficiency and to the high-quality education ACI provides for everyone working to create healthy, comfortable, resource-efficient homes in California.”
All three companies provide energy efficient, cost-effective solutions for their customers through consumer education and rebate programs. Over the past three years, SDG&E customers have reduced their electricity use by more than 910 million kilowatt hours and their gas usage by more than 1.8 million therms. Since 1995, SoCalGas has operated the Energy Resource Center (ERC) in Downey, CA as a one-stop “idea shop” where customers can find the most efficient and environmentally sensitive solutions to their energy needs. The ERC has also recently received LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council for existing building operations and maintenance (EBOM). And, PG&E has been offering energy efficiency programs to its customers since 1976, preventing the release of more than 180 million metric tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere based on cumulative lifecycle gross energy savings. PG&E offers a broad portfolio of programs that includes a mix of rebates and financial incentives, training and education, support for commercializing new and emerging technologies and other activities, such as advocacy for stronger building codes and appliance standards.
The 2013 Regional Home Performance Conference in California will convene members of all sectors of the home performance industry—contractors, weatherization programs, manufacturers, utilities, government agencies, HVAC, and more—for a comprehensive educational agenda, networking, and an exhibitor trade show.
