William J. Wray, Litigation of counsel in the Las Vegas office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, is set to moderate a panel discussion on the topic of Construction Law: Contracting, Remedies & Enforcement at the 21st Annual International Association of Korean Lawyers (IAKL) Conference. The event will be held Sept. 26-29, 2013 at Korea University in Seoul, South Korea.
According to IAKL’s website, the panel is comprised of private practitioners and general counsels with substantial and internationally varied experience in construction law and related litigation, dispute resolution and judgment enforcement. Participants will be able to glean a very practical understanding of common international construction law issues.
The panel will discuss construction law issues ranging from construction project contracting, to project disputes, claims and potential remedies, and the enforcement of the corresponding remedies and judgments. Additionally, the panel will discuss construction contracting focusing on the common EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contracting format for international construction projects, with a particular focus on the practice of Korea-based companies contracting to build projects in foreign jurisdictions, including the US. Discussion of project remedies will focus on the remedies of construction project participants, including lien rights, with an added focus on lien rights and remedies in Latin America, Canada and the US. Discussion of enforcement will focus on the international enforcement of judgments, with a particular emphasis on enforcement of international judgments between Korea and the US.
