Rohit Commercial Utilizes Tilt-Up Construction for Commercial Innovation

In May 2013, Rohit Commercial, a division of Rohit Group of Companies, began the innovative tilt up construction at 91 street and Ellwood drive; the future location of Ellwood Corner. In tilt-up construction, the floor slab is cast early in the process, and wall panels are formed directly on the floor slab before being tilted into final position. Essentially, site-cast tilt-up ensures adherence to schedule commitments by eliminating shipping restrictions and manufacturing limitations since the whole building process is completed on site. “The walls of Ellwood Corner were up in 3 days, now we are adding the finishing touches to greet new and unique tenants in early 2014,” said Zulfikar Akbar, Commercial Business Development.

Ellwood Corner is over 59,000 sq. ft. of office and retail building which utilizes architectural accents such as, curved curtain wall glazing and stone veneer cladding to give it unique definition. This project is currently under construction and is anticipated to be completed in early 2014.
