The Griffith Insurance Educational Foundation Announces Michael Fusselbaugh as Winner of the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award
COLUMBUS, OH (PRWEB) September 25, 2013 -- John Bishop, chair of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) and member of The Griffith Foundation Leadership Council, presented Michael Fusselbaugh with The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation’s 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award during a ceremony at the NAMIC Annual Convention, held September 22 to 25 in Seattle.
Candidates for the 2013 Griffith Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award were nominated by The Griffith Foundation. The nominees were then reviewed and selected by The Griffith Leadership Council, which includes influential insurance leaders and executives. This year’s winner was recognized for exemplary commitments to education and for his support of the missions of The Griffith Foundation and NAMIC.
Fusselbaugh is senior vice president of renewable energy at The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company (HSB). After graduating from Towson University, Fusselbaugh joined HSB and has held a number of management positions in corporate marketing, human resources, regional management, business development, international insurance, new product development, personal lines, and agricultural products and energy. In 2001, he was promoted to senior vice president.

Fusselbaugh holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designations and continues to be involved in industry-related continuing education. Over his career, Fusselbaugh has served on committees for a number of insurance industry organizations, including the Leadership Council of The Griffith Foundation, the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety and the Greater Hartford Arts Council. Currently, he serves on the board of directors for the NAMIC Merit Society, from which he received the NAMIC Merit Award in 1999. He is also a member of the Association of Energy Engineers and the American Council on Renewable Energy.
