SchoolWheels Direct, Inc. Encourages “Ride Free Week” in Brevard County
Daniel Island, SC (PRWEB) September 23, 2013 -- SchoolWheels Direct, Inc., has been transporting students to over ten Brevard County Millennium, Magnet and Choice Schools since the beginning of the school year and is encouraging parents and students to “get on the bus”. The company said it is pleased to present Ride Free Week to those students who are not currently utilizing their school transportation services. Parents who have not already signed up for Ride Free Week can have their children try SchoolWheels Direct for the week starting today running through Friday, September 27 on routes that are currently not at full capacity. The company said it may offer the program in October as well during National School Bus Safety Week.
SchoolWheels Direct provides school bus transportation directly to its Members as a solution to the cutbacks in transportation throughout the county that affected approximately 2500 students.
"We saw there was an opportunity to provide safe, cost-efficient service to new Members of SchoolWheels Direct who join our service online. Since this was a new concept in Brevard County we had to act fast to help those parents who realized how important safe, reliable service was in their busy day. After settling in the first two weeks with normal changes and seeing the tremendous congestion at schools caused by so many parents opting to take their children to school in cars, our program is off to a great start this school year and our Members are very happy,” states Robert Scholer, SchoolWheels Director of Sales. “Our Members appreciate our flexible yield pricing strategy that helps them lower their transportation costs as the bus fills up. Parents with children on some of our routes pay as little as almost $5 a day. That’s a small price to pay in order to provide their children a safe and secure trip to and from school without worrying about who’s driving or picking them up today.”
The company is launching Ride Free Week to give others in the community an opportunity to try the service and who might be already frustrated with carpool traffic, the high cost of gas, as well as contributing to the pollution around the schools let alone the wear and tear on their vehicles.
Mr. Scholer adds, “Our bus drivers are local members of the community, Florida State Certified, our brand new vehicles exceed all Federal and State standards and are equipped with air conditioning, seat belts, onboard cameras, and a GPS system. We really would like more families to try us out and take advantage of our transportation services to improve the safety in and around our schools.”
