ASHHRA Announces Winners of 2013 HealthcareSource Annual Conference Grants

New-to-the-profession, HR practitioners seek opportunities to develop personal leadership and people strategies.

The grants enable the winners to attend the 2013 ASHHRA 49th Annual Conference & Exposition taking place this week (September 28-October 1, 2013) in Washington D.C.

These grants provide financial assistance to healthcare HR practitioners who are new in their careers and wish to further their knowledge by attending the ASHHRA Conference. The grant fulfills a commitment commonly shared by both ASHHRA and HealthcareSource to support the next generation of healthcare HR leaders with educational and networking opportunities.

The 2013 HealthcareSource ASHHRA "New to the Profession" grant winners are:

Shelley Beguin, Gordon Memorial Hospital
"The information I have received since becoming an ASHHRA member has been very valuable. I am actively involved in the ASHHRA Mentoring program, through which I have built relationships with my mentors, fellow Mentoring Program participants and ASHHRA staff members. As a new-to-the-profession healthcare HR practitioner, ASHRRA is helping me develop the competency of Personal Leadership and exemplifying excellence."

Kimberly D. Carter, BS, Columbia County Health System
"Being a member of ASHHRA allows me to be part of a community that can provide resources, networking and support in this next phase of my career. My goal following the conference is to develop the essential knowledge to exemplify ASHHRA's HR leader model of People Strategies and lead with my heart."

Jennifer L. Triumph, MSHR, MLD, Franciscan St. Margaret Health
"I firmly believe that human resources has a strong impact on providing healthcare organizations with the human capital they need to perform at the highest levels. As a member of ASHHRA, I plan to further develop my competency in People Strategies with a focus on a fully integrated talent management and succession planning program."
