As Trademark Protection in New gTLDs Becomes Increasingly Critical to Brand Owners, Trademark Clearinghouse Agent FairWinds Educates Brands on TMCH Services
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) September 24, 2013 -- FairWinds Partners, a domain name consulting firm, is working to help legal, IT and marketing professionals better understand and use the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) as the first new gTLDs get ready to launch over the next couple of months.
ICANN, the body that manages the New gTLD Program, established the Trademark Clearinghouse to help brands protect their intellectual property in new gTLDs. ICANN also designated certain entities, such as FairWinds Partners, as official Trademark Clearinghouse Agents.
FairWinds Director of Strategy & Development Alex White has hosted multiple workshops and webinars on how to prepare for the launch of new gTLDs. He explains that, “Many attendees - primarily legal, IT and marketing professionals - are unsure of where to begin and how to get the most out of the TMCH without overspending. Creating strategic plans for how to use the TMCH and for domain name registrations in new gTLDs is critical to achieving cost-effective, online brand protection in the new domain name world."
Brand owners can obtain more information about brand protection and trademark services by visiting TMCH Services on the FairWinds Partners website. FairWinds Partners is a registered Trademark Agent for the TMCH.
