Serial Entrepreneur, Rudy Mazzocchi, Receives Global Business Recognition Award as the 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- Serving as Chief Executive Officer of ELENZA, Rudy Mazzocchi has once again strived to overcome the challenges in today's economy to finance and build another med-tech company from the ground up. As recently described in an interview on BioTuesdays, ELENZA combines nanotechnology, artificial intelligence (neural networks-based memory), and advanced electronics to seamlessly "autofocus" an implantable lens without movement. Mazzocchi goes on to describe this technology that will serve as platform for all electronically-activated, programmable devices designed for inside the eye to treat a variety of disorders ranging from Glaucoma to Macular Degeneration.
Although cautious of providing too many additional details, he hints of these implantable optical devices of having the future capability of including "heads-up display" technology to allow the wearer to project recorded data or even access global navigational systems (GPS) or individual emails.
“In addition to providing patients with perfect vision, this technology has the future potential of providing the wearer with physiological information, such as continuous blood sugar levels or blood pressure readings at the mere blink of an eye,” states Mazzocchi. “However, the challenges are far from over, as we strive to continue to meet the financing demands of such an early-stage medical device company in a troubled economy, along with the ever-changing environment of our regulatory agencies, such as the FDA, and global healthcare systems.”
Mazzocchi furthermore acknowledges that his new venture would be nothing more than a well told story if it weren’t for the contributions of his hand-picked management team and development partners throughout the world.
About the Entrepreneur of the Year Award:
The Business Intelligence Group was founded with a mission of recognizing true talent and superior performance in the business world. Unlike other award programs, real business people, those with experience and knowledge, judge the Awards. The organization’s proprietary and unique scoring system selectively measures performance across multiple business domains and then rewards those companies whose achievements stand above their peers.
