Hale Devices Launches the Dreamer Alarm Dock for Android on Kickstarter

The smartphone accessory harnesses the power of the smartphone and adds the functionality of a speaker dock to create the ultimate customizable alarm clock with an enhanced do-not-disturb feature called SmartSilence. Hale is running a 31-day Kickstarter campaign that aims to recruit users for the first production run, scheduled to take place in October, and receive early feedback on the app.
After months of designing and testing prototypes, Hale Devices is ready to move forward with mass production of the Dreamer Alarm Dock. Hale expects that their proprietary do-not-disturb feature, SmartSilence, will give them a competitive advantage in a growing market. “We feel there’s an enormous opportunity to get people a better night’s sleep with a thoughtful docking solution. Users need something between the options of being cut off from the world, and being disturbed by every unimportant notification,” says Alex Kemmler, VP of Marketing, “SmartSilence gives you complete control over your notification and call settings without the risk of missing a genuinely important call. This unique feature sets us apart from the other alarm docks on the market.” The Dreamer Alarm Dock is an app-enabled, full featured alarm dock that combines the practical features of traditional alarm clocks with the flexibility of alarm apps. It functions as an alarm clock, a charging dock, and a speaker dock. It is compatible with virtually all Android devices, including those manufactured by Samsung, HTC, and Motorola.
A successful Kickstarter campaign will help finish the production process and get early units into the hands of its most involved users. Hale hopes to stoke enthusiasm with a variety of rewards, from a $4 3D-printed Android mascot phone stand to the commission of a custom alarm tone for $220. Backers who pledge $59 will receive the Dreamer Alarm Dock for Android.
Beyond simply raising funds, Hale Devices hopes to engage a broad user base in the final phases of development. “We chose Kickstarter as our crowdfunding platform because its users are known for their involvement, enthusiasm, and participation,” says Joe Born, CEO and founder of Hale Devices. “We are looking for feedback on the physical product and the app - ways we can make it better in response to what customers want.”
The Kickstarter campaign will run through mid-October, with a minimum goal of $35,000. After completion of the crowdfunding campaign, Hale will introduce the Dreamer Alarm Dock to retail in early November. Developed by a team with decades of combined experience in consumer electronics, the Dreamer is nearly ready for production. Hale has detailed plans and fully contracted resources to meet its October launch target.
