Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts Adds Nationally Accredited Medical Assistant Program
San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) September 24, 2013 -- Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is offering a Medical Assistant program beginning January 2014 at all campuses: San Mateo, Concord, Fresno, Modesto. The MA program will educate and prepare students to provide both front office administrative and back office clinical support, under physician supervision, in all outpatient clinical settings. Included in the program is the preparation and completion of national certification testing. Upon graduation, students will hold Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
Effective September 20, 2013 the MA program at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts has been granted programmatic accreditation by the Accrediting Bureau for Health Education Schools ABHES.
Applications are now being accepted for the first class beginning January 6, 2014. The program is divided into three modules. The first two modules include didactic and laboratory coursework in current medical assisting practice. The third module is an externship. Every student completes a 180 externship experience in one of a variety of clinical outpatient settings that allow students to refine their competencies in required skills and to bridge the path from classroom to workplace. Classes are daytime Monday-Friday.
In addition to providing a thorough and comprehensive curriculum, Gurnick Academy also provides job placement assistance upon successful completion of the program.
