Former Texas Coach Dennis Launarey Creates New Guidebook to Encourage More Women to Enjoy Football
Austin, TX (PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- According to the Harris Poll, 73 percent of men watch football while only 55 percent of women do. Former football coach Dennis Launarey wants to narrow that gap with his new book, The Best Ladies’ Guide to Football So Far.
“Football is as much a part of fall as pumpkin spice, and just like that delicious flavor, everyone should be able to enjoy the game,” Launarey said. “I feel that lack of enjoyment is a direct result of not understanding the workings of the game.”
Launarey spent 31 years as a coach in the great football-state of Texas. He started every season with a popular series of clinics that taught moms the basics of the game.
“I realized that these clinics were popular amongst the community, but were too short to cover everything, “ Launarey said. “I wanted to address that gap in the market by providing a different type of book that would teach football in an interactive yet simple fashion.”
The Best Ladies’ Guide to Football So Far follows a workbook style with running questions, quizzes and interactive activities, all supported by over 400 pictures and diagrams. Everything in the book can be seen in a typical football game allowing that confusing mass of moving players to suddenly all make sense.
