Get Scheduled, Cloud Based Workforce Management Software, in Shortlist to Win Awards
Abingdon, Oxfordshire (PRWEB UK) 27 September 2013 -- Get Scheduled’s cloud based workforce management software is shortlisted for Best New Tech Product at the Event Technology Awards and the UK Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award at the 2013 UK IT Industry Awards.
The Event Technology Awards recognise innovative ways technology is used in the delivery of Events from festivals to conferences to brand activation.
Released in 2011, Get Scheduled is shortlisted specifically for their work with the London Ambassadors 2012 programme that ran alongside all Olympic and Paralympic events. Get Scheduled provided the tools for a very small management team to schedule and communicate 46,445 shifts across 48 sites to 7000 volunteers.
Get Scheduled is also shortlisted in the UK Innovation and Entrepreneurship category at the 2013 UK IT Industry Awards. This award is presented to a new hardware or software product to have made the biggest contribution to business technology over the past 12 months.
“We are delighted to be short listed for these two industry recognised awards,” said Jane Webber, Get Scheduled’s newly appointed General Manager. “It’s an exciting time to come on board."
Workforce management and employee scheduling software has been popular in call centers since the 1970s and in the USA is now common place in many sectors. However in the UK it is only now that more and more organisations are embracing workforce management solutions in order to better manage and communicate with their staff, something reflected in the fact two workforce management systems are shortlisted for Best New Tech Product at the Event Technology Awards this year.
“Technology has transformed the way we communicate socially and in business it is no different”, Jane added “Get Scheduled really stood out to me as it allows a workforce to always be fully informed and up to date, with access to all related job files and schedules from any internet device. Also providing coordinators and managers with all the necessary business tools needed to most effectively deliver their projects, from quick scheduling and communication to finance and reporting, again from anywhere and at anytime."
Winners at both the Event Technology Awards and UK IT Industry Awards are to be announced in November 2013.
