Local News Personalities Will Read Aloud to Children for Three Consecutive Saturdays

Read Conmigo, the renowned bilingual literacy campaign for children, has partnered with Miami Seaquarium to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. For three consecutive Saturdays, children will have the opportunity to meet local news personalities as they read aloud from Read Conmigo’s bilingual children’s books. The readings will take place at the Miami Seaquarium Reef Aquarium on the following dates:

  •     September 28, 2013 at 2 p.m.
  •     October 5, 2013 at 2 p.m.
  •     October 12, 2013 at 2 p.m.

“We are delighted to invite the community to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us this year at Miami Seaquarium, a South Florida landmark.” said Geraldine Toledo, spokesperson for Read Conmigo. “We hope that families at the reading events will be inspired to foster a love of bilingual reading in their homes, as more than 69,000 families across the country have done through the Read Conmigo program.”

Families who wish to participate in the Hispanic Heritage Month reading events are encouraged to visit Read Conmigo’s website at http://www.readconmigo.org/miami, where they may print coupons for 50% off admission to Miami Seaquarium on the dates of the reading events. The Read Conmigo website also features a wealth of bilingual literacy resources for families, including downloadable e-books, reading tips, educational games and much more.

About the Read Conmigo Bilingual Literacy Campaign: Read Conmigo, sponsored by Infinity Auto Insurance, is a parent-focused bilingual literacy campaign that encourages Hispanic parents to read to their children at home through the distribution of free English-Spanish children's books.
