Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) September 25, 2013
Earlier this month, BreakFront, a solution provider for the kitchen and bath and remodeling industries, announced their commitment to raise money and awareness to charity: water, a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. The September campaign is focused on providing clean water to over 100 impoverished villages in Orissa, India, specifically focused on Dalits, people of the lowest social caste.
BreakFront has pledged an initial goal of $5,000 to help bring 11 households each three taps of water, a toilet and a shower. People of the Dalit social designation in India are socially banned from accessing water from sources used by people of upper castes, so without the plumbing luxuries, women and children of lower castes are often forced to trek miles each day to obtain water, most of which is unsanitary. Access to clean water not only makes families less susceptible to waterborne diseases and deaths, but it can free women and children to add to the family income, and go back to school.
When asked about the attraction to the cause, Nick Ritota, Vice President of BreakFront’s Marketing and Sales stated, “We’re a part of an industry devoted to building and bringing life back into kitchens and bathrooms, two places dedicated to water, so our team at BreakFront felt a strong connection to this charity.”
BreakFront has already begun to raise some awareness for charity: water’s September campaign through their industry blog, the Dealer’s Voice (which you can access here), and through their new donation page.
