Top Technology Entrepreneur Hired by Boopsie for Libraries
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- Boopsie for Libraries, the leading mobile platform for public libraries and academic libraries worldwide, announced today the expansion of their team to include Eric Hamer as Vice President of Engineering. Eric will lead all engineering and operational efforts for Boopsie.
“We are excited to have Eric on the team,” states Tony Medrano, CEO. “His hands-on experience shipping products, leading high performance engineering teams, and building software companies to scale will help accelerate our growth.”
Eric joins Boopsie with over fifteen years of experience in technical leadership for a wide range of companies. At Keynote Systems, he invented their patented “Transaction Perspective” to accurately measure the performance of the Internet from the end user's perspective. In early 2000, Eric founded and served as the CTO of NetInformer LLC; a mobile media company, whose customers included affiliates of the television stations for ABC, CBS, and NBC. It is this technology that brought “Text Board Trivia” to the Oakland A’s fans in the 2004 to 2009 seasons. In 2008, NetInformer was acquired by Media General, Inc. in order to extend the reach of their local media affiliates to mobile technologies.
“I believe this is an exciting time to join the team, as they are clearly at the intersection of mobile application development and big data analysis at a point when both of these technologies are now mainstream”, Eric said. “By using the technologies that Boopsie provides, libraries can easily distribute their content to a larger audience, be able to better understand their patron's needs, and improve their operational efficiencies. At a time when budgets are strained, our public and academic libraries need Boopsie's offerings to remain relevant in communities that depend on mobile access to content and services.”
