Summit Medical Group Foundation Launched
Berkeley Heights, NJ (PRWEB) September 30, 2013 -- Rooted in more than 80 years of providing premier multispecialty healthcare to its community, Summit Medical Group, New Jersey’s largest private physician group, today announced it has established the Summit Medical Group Foundation. The Summit Medical Group Foundation is a pending non-profit 501 (c) (3) private foundation whose mission is to enrich the lives of members of its communities through health promotion, medical research and medical education.
“Summit Medical Group has always recognized its responsibility to its communities above and beyond providing healthcare services,” says Jeff Le Benger, MD, Summit Medical Group chairman, CEO and chairman of the Summit Medical Group Foundation. “The Summit Medical Group Foundation was established to better manage and support our commitment to critical organizations and causes that advance health and well-being in our communities.”
Summit Medical Group has been honored for its leadership in community support, including recognition as an NJBIA Good Neighbor, an NJBiz Corporate Citizen of the Year and the AMCP Communitas Leadership Award. In addition, the Group has given generously of its resources to medical missions abroad and to numerous state and community-based organizations.

The Summit Medical Group Foundation has hired Lisa Hackett to serve as executive director. Prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Hackett was executive director of the South Orange Village Center (SOVCA) Special Improvement District. Before working with SOVCA, she was executive director of the Downtown Millburn Development Alliance. Ms. Hackett’s expertise includes business development, strategic partnerships, marketing campaigns, brand strategy, and domestic and global promotions. A skilled grant writer, fund raiser, and media consultant, she has more than 20 years’ experience in conceiving and leading high-profile, award-winning campaigns and projects that address multicultural markets.

One of the Summit Medical Group Foundation’s first activities is the September 30, 2013, Celebrity Golf Invitational co-sponsored with the Enright Melanoma Foundation. Joseph E. Enright was a Summit Medical Group internal medicine physician who died of melanoma at age 37. For more than a decade, Summit Medical Group has been a steadfast supporter of the Enright Melanoma Foundation, participating in programs such as the Enright Health Trek, the Enright Golf Invitational and community health lecture series.
