West Liberty, IA Dentist Dr. Roberto Moreno Introduces CEREC Technology at Gentle Family Dentists for One-Visit Restorations
West Liberty, IA (PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- Dr. Roberto Moreno, West Liberty, IA cosmetic dentist recently introduced CEREC technology at his practice to allow patients to receive all-porcelain, precisely-fitted restorations in just one office. Prior to CEREC technology, the process of fitting, creating and placing porcelain restorations would take several weeks and at least two office visits.
CEREC, which stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic, or CEramic REConstruction, is the latest in dental technology that utilizes 3D imaging and high powered lasers to create custom porcelain restorations in office.
“The capabilities that our new CEREC machine provides not only helps our patients spend less time in the chair, but also gives them a better-fitting, more comfortable restoration that is durable and long-lasting,” said Dr. Roberto Moreno of Gentle Family Dentists. “Many patients have already experienced first-hand the improvement it makes in their dental care, and we’re excited to be able to provide this state-of-the art service to our other patients as well.”
With CEREC technology, there’s no need to use cumbersome impression putty that often triggers gag reflexes, and no need to send impressions to an external lab to create the actual porcelain restoration. Using the CEREC machine, Dr. Moreno uses 3D imaging technology to create pictures and measurements of the tooth that are used to program the measurements for ceramic restorations. The machine then uses high powered laser technology to mill the restoration from a small porcelain block with ultimate precision. The restoration can then be fitted on the patient’s tooth, and immediately altered if fit needs to be improved. There’s no need for multiple office visits over the course of 2-3 weeks and no need for temporary crowns while the permanent restoration is created in a lab setting.
CEREC technology also gives patients a healthier option for permanent restorations, eliminating the necessity of using restorations that are bonded to gold, amalgam, or other metals. Ultimately, it creates a better, more natural look for the patient since porcelain is known to sustain a natural, white color and resist staining.
In addition to providing all-ceramic restorations with CEREC, Dr. Moreno also provides mini dental implants in West Liberty, IA for patients with missing, broken, or severely decayed teeth. For patients who struggle with dental anxiety or fear, Dr. Moreno can provide anxiolysis in West Liberty, IA to help make their visit more pleasant.
