Pearson Partners with Denver Learning Institute (DLI) to Deliver Online Continuing Education to Business Professionals
Boston (PRWEB) September 25, 2013 -- Pearson today announced it has partnered with the Denver Learning Institute (DLI), launched in June by Bridgepoint Education, to create continuing education courses needed by businesspeople and working specialists who seek the knowledge necessary to complete national certification exams in information technology, business, project management and health care.
Pearson is working closely with DLI to develop high quality, Pearson Workforce Education self-paced online courses that improve learning outcomes. DLI’s courses are being hosted within the Pearson LearningStudio learning management system. Using real-time labor market data from Burning Glass, which analyzes job postings from more than 25,000 websites, DLI is able to determine what courses and certifications are needed in the marketplace. DLI is supplying essential training and knowledge for professionals who need to be certified in advanced fields, such as Project Management Professional (PMP), CompTIA and Six Sigma, using a convenient and flexible online delivery model, powered by Pearson, that enables students to sign up and start taking courses immediately.
Brian Savarese, Executive Director of the Denver Learning Institute, said, “Pearson is an established and well-known provider of proven, quality curriculum in the marketplace. Their partnership with Burning Glass was a key differentiator for us, as having the insight into the needs of the workforce enables us to offer an effective and relevant curriculum, which is a huge step in building our credibility.”
Leah Jewell, President, Health Science and Careers at Pearson, said, “The creation of the Denver Learning Institute is a direct result of the growing demand for IT certifications. The CareerBuilder 2013 Forecast states that information technology jobs account for 27 percent of the new positions hiring managers are looking to fill in 2013. We’re proud to be working with DLI to help them create certification programs designed to ensure candidates are properly trained for a successful information technology career.”
DLI already offers 17 online prep certification courses that include Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma Green Belt, Java Associate, CompTIA, Certified Professional Medical Auditor, and more. DLI courses are approved in states such as California, Colorado, New Jersey, Florida, and more. A complete list of available classes can be found on DLI’s website, DenverLearning.com.
