Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- Summit Industries, manufacturer of luxury consumer products Lexol, Lantiseptic, and Creomulsion, has named Mike Musso President and Chief Executive Officer.
One of the oldest privately held companies in Atlanta, Georgia, Summit Industries produces and distributes top-of-market solutions in leather and vinyl care and cleaning; incontinence and skin care; and over-the-counter cough relief. The company is positioning itself for growth with hiring of Musso, who brings more than 30 years of senior operations in leading and building companies as CEO, financial advisor and Chief Restructuring Officer. He has a “blue chip” consumer products foundation having served in leadership roles with Procter & Gamble, Pepsi Cola, and Frito-Lay.
“My experience with top-tier household brands has created an in depth understanding of how innovation drives company growth, shareholder value, and consumer satisfaction,” said Musso. “Summit Industries has an excellent reputation, strong products with significant consumer loyalty, and the drive and ability to expand and grow.”
Musso will focus on the total consumer experience, from how Summit Industries products are used and how the packaging works for the best consumer experience to disposal and the packaging’s impact on the environment. He will also be transitioning some of Summit’s most popular products including Lanisceptic into broader retail markets. A key focus will be to build a company culture of “peak performing people and products.”
“We want to truly connect with our employees, customers, and consumers,” Musso said. “Our goal is to exhibit pride and passion internally that will be reflected externally in our products and customer service.”
Musso comes to Summit from Cosmetic Specialities International, a leading global manufacturer of cosmetic and personal care product packaging where he served as President and CEO. He formerly led the Consumer Package Goods Practice at MorrisAnderson & Associates, one of the top middle market consulting firms in the U.S. He was awarded “Turnaround of the Year” by the Turnaround Management Association for his work with Cosmolab, a 100-year-old cosmetic and skincare products company.
“Summit Industries has been successful over the last 90 years but we have never had a CEO with the experience of Mike Musso,” said Ben Johnson III, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Summit Industries. “We are anticipating growth and expansion in our current markets, an improved consumer experience, and an improved shareholder return.”
