Omaha home designers Advanced House Plans is proud to have three custom home designs featured in the 2013 Street of Dreams. This is their 9th show as contributing designers since 2004 and the firm is pleased with how each home turned out.
This year’s show features two homes designed with a French Country style, and one with a Mediterranean appeal. While the homes vary in aesthetics and layout, each is designed specifically to meet the habits and personalities of their respective homeowners.
“It takes a great design to make a home,” said owner and principal designer Tom Clark.
Using their experience as custom home designers since their founding in 2002, AHP has seen trends change over time. “Folks are moving toward energy-efficient homes, and homeowners are much more keen to design their house to fit their lifestyle,” said Clark. “For example, a garage is more than a garage these days. It’s the main entry for the family, and often an entertainment space.”
The three homes mark the largest showing the company has made at the Street of Dreams. In 2012, AHP was commissioned to design two of the homes built for the show, and they are already working on new plans for next year’s show.
“We’ve designed over a dozen homes specifically for the show over the years,” said Clark. “To have three in this year’s exhibit is a great achievement for our team.”
Advanced House Plans is one of Omaha’s premiere custom home designers. Since 2002, the firm has produced hundreds of custom homes designs, and their stock home plans have been built in all 50 states, Canada and Sweden. "Between our customs and stock plans, thousands of homes across the country have been built from our designs," noted owner Jason Diederich.
The annual showcase features the latest home design trends from the area’s top home design teams and is open to the public thru September 29 at Deer Creek Highlands in Omaha. You can see AHP's designs at home #3, 6, and 7 at the show.
