Southern California agency beats immense competition for an impressive “David vs. Goliath” win.

MJD, a leading digital innovation agency, proudly announces its win for “Best Platform - Experiential” at this year’s OMMA Digital Out of Home Awards. Recognized for their work with Legendary Pictures on the Godzilla Encounter, which launched at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, MJD pulled a “David vs. Goliath” victory against global agencies SapientNitro and iris Worldwide.

“We went against some great global agencies and it’s a huge honor for MJD to bring home this OMMA award,” says MJD CEO, Jeremy Duimstra. “Working with clients like Legendary is a digital agency’s dream. They allowed us to push the boundaries of technology and what was possible to deliver an amazing experience that drove engagement at one of the largest entertainment conventions in the world (San Diego Comic-Con).”

Finalists in the experiential category were recognized for their use of cutting-edge, innovative technologies that harmonized to create engaging and effective solutions that leveraged digital in a new, imaginative way.

“The Godzilla Encounter was by far one of the most exciting projects that our team has worked on,” explains MJD Chief Innovation Officer, Jason Van Peeren. “It gave our team a chance to think outside our traditional digital toolbox and blend a variety of new technologies, like augmented reality and geofencing, to create something that was truly unique and engaging.”

In addition to their win in the “Best Platform – Experiential” category, MJD was also a OMMA finalist for their Godzilla Encounter work in the “Best Execution Promoting a Brand within Industry Vertical: Entertainment”.
