For more than three decades, Catherine Robinson-Walker has been working hand-in-hand with committed healthcare leaders to transform organizations and achieve success. Inspired by those leaders, Robinson-Walker, a best-selling author and healthcare leadership expert, has written “Leading Valiantly in Healthcare: Four Steps to Sustainable Success” (Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, ISBN-10 193755483X).
“Leading Valiantly” is a reflection and recap of the author’s work for over 30 years. Through her book, Robinson-Walker provides a successful approach for healthcare leaders at all levels to grow into strong, resilient leaders. The author uses examples inspired by real-life experiences and teaches readers how to transform themselves and their personal leadership style in order to inspire others and lead with character and grace.
“The leaders I work with inspire me. They are committed, focused and smart. With never ending change in healthcare, it is important for leaders to commit to leading with bravery and valor,” says Robinson-Walker. “Leading valiantly requires one to focus on their state of being, their process for doing, as well as their intended outcomes,” she adds.
Early reviews of “Leading Valiantly” have deemed it artful, insightful, full of wisdom and an amazing compilation of theory and exemplars as well as lessons learned wrapped in a foundation of leadership integrity.
“I am so impressed with the intensity of information, which automatically drives one into deep and thorough personal reflections. This book is for every leader who wants to be the best leader he or she can be, “ says Rhonda Anderson, DNSc, RN, FAAN, FACHE Chief Executive Officer for Cardon Children’s Medical Center.
“Leading Valiantly” is an extension of the author’s work as president of The Leadership Studio. The organization works with complex health organizations across the country, offering executive coaching and the Leadership Valor program to motivate work teams. “Leading Valiantly” is available for purchase on Amazon.com and Sigma Theta Tau International.
