Southern Companions Senior Caregiving Service Announces Fall Caravan Extravaganza

Southern Companions and assisted living locators are providing a public tour of some of the top senior living communities in the North Georgia area.

Southern Companions partnering with assisted living locators announces their Fall Caravan Extravaganza featuring a tour of local personal care homes and assisted and independent living facilities. This free event is designed for local community and senior providers to have hands on experience in learning more about the numerous quality senior living communities in the North Georgia area. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the various accommodations made available by the various facilities and their providers as well as get a hands on perspective of the activities and senior care.

The public is invited to join in the learning and fun on October 10th from 10:30a.m until 12:30p.m. The event has been scheduled so that attendees will be able to enjoy the fall leaves on the caravan to tour The Olive Branch (Braselton), The Oaks at Braselton, Peachtree Plantation and Country Heritage Assisted Living. Live music, fall treats and activities will be featured at each of the chosen locations. For those joining the caravan, we will meet at the Oakwood Park and Ride (at 985) 10:30am.

Southern Companions is a locally owned company started by an experienced nurse, Tara Jernigan (BSRN, ACLS, PALS) who has over 18 years of experience in critical care and nursing supervision. She has also taught in the nursing programs at Brenau University and North Georgia College. She is joined by two Gainesville businessmen, Tim Taylor and Allen Jernigan, who have over 40 years combined experience in the financial industry. Together the team sees a need for Gainesville home care services that will improve the quality of life for the elderly and disabled.

Through the many years of experience that the team has within those aspects, Southern Companions was established in 2009. The team developed a strong base of caregivers that they believed to be exceptional and have continue to recruit and employ these compassionate individuals to offer the utmost care to each and every client with their specific needs being met.

Southern Companions has set up streamlined processes for each caregiver and each client intake to ensure that the clients and caregivers will have a pleasurable and easy transition.
