U.S. Department of Defense Awards over 25 Contracts to Desktop Alert for Continued Support and Expansion of Its Network-Centric Mass Notification Systems
(PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- Desktop Alert, Inc., the pioneer and leader in ‘less than one minute’ network-centric emergency mass notification systems (EMNS) to military, government, healthcare, higher education and industrial organizations, today announced that its industry leading mass notification communication platform has been awarded over 25 new contracts for Department of Defense (DoD) military installations between 2012 and 2013 for operational locations and medical facilities to continue its deployment of Desktop Alert worldwide. This prestigious list includes recent deployment of the system at NORAD/Northern Command Headquarters.
The new DoD contracts support and expand existing capabilities provided by Desktop Alert, supporting personnel notification, recall and accountability with both on premise alerting capabilities as well as mobile alerting end-points.
Key awards in the list:
• Headquarters NORAD and U.S. Northern Command
• Fort Campbell
• Fort Gordon
• U.S. Army at Fort Huachuca

The Department of Defense's use of Desktop Alert is consistent with the Secretary of Defense’s August 18, 2010 directive related to the Fort Hood Review. Ft. Hood subsequently selected Desktop Alert for its state-of-the-art mass notification alert system.
Desktop Alert is the leading provider of IP-based mass notification for the U.S. Army worldwide. Currently, Desktop Alert is the primary IP-based alert platform in use by the U.S. Air National Guard and the U.S. Army National Guard.
“It is our past performance reports combined with the fact that Desktop Alert is highly affordable compared to existing alternatives with highly prohibitive life-cycle costs that have paved the way towards our companies’ expansion at the DoD. Additionally, the Air National Guard 114th wing in South Dakota just won a Joint Staff Integrated Vulnerability Assessment (JSIVA), Best Benchmark Award for Mass Notification System based on the Desktop Alert system for recognition of best practices. This is considered a formidable recognition at DoD. Similar award recognition's were attained by the 122nd Fighter Wing at the Air National Guard,” said Howard Ryan, CEO and Founder of Desktop Alert Inc.

Worldwide U.S. Military organizations such as The United States National Guard, The United States Air Force Academy, The United States Military Academy at West Point, Multi-National Forces in IRAQ, The U.S. Air Force, and The U.S. Army now utilize the DTA mass notification platform daily for their organization's emergency communication requirements. Desktop Alert can contact thousands of computer users at their desktop and require them to click to confirm receipt of the message flashed on their screen. Those not verified can then be listed on a report and/or sent as a "Target Package" to be automatically contacted by other means such as email, SMS, phone calls and other devices.
