Founder of Mobile Wallet Media Launches New Site Focused on Innovation in Politics and Commerce
Orange County, CA (PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- Today the founder of Mobile Wallet Media and TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Alley Winner MobilePayUSA, Randy Smith, launches a website focused on innovation in politics and commerce. CitizensReUnited serves as a new rally point for ‘We the People’ to combat corruption in commerce and politics.
Mr. Smith states “This is something I’ve felt a great passion and calling to for many years. After decades of working as an entrepreneur, I saw an underlying theme pop up again and again. Corruption and corporate politics is the enemy of innovation and innovators. Power is driven by money and authority, yet ironically the greatest success comes from the greatest innovation and innovators. It’s a paradox that produces paradigm. Without great wisdom and humility by leaders, innovation and innovators are swept by the wayside in favor of those best able to be politically correct.”
A recent article by VentureBeat states “If Steve Jobs applied for a job at Apple today, there’s no chance in hell he’d get hired.” The article continues “Not political. Collaborators. People who really don’t care who gets credit. Those are the type of people that Apple looks for in new employees, Apple CEO Tim Cook said recently.”
But, Mr. Smith asks “If no credit is given where credit is due, does this not foster a favorable environment for those that are politically adept? If the wrong people get credit, is it not a lie? If the wrong people get the credit and hence get promoted, then are we not suppressing innovation and rewarding political and managerial talents? Of course innovation requires diverse talent sets to fulfill unto reality, but without innovators you have managers and builders but no blueprint. Without a Steve Jobs or Bill Gates in the lead having the vision to connect the dots and see how things should or could be, you are left with inferior or already obsolete invention.”
Mr. Smith continues “In DC our two-party political system has become monopolistic. Big money derived from corporations and Wall Street control politics. Without major contributions in the millions by Billionaires to Super PACs, candidates stand little chance of being elected. One gets elected by playing to the party line and by marching to the drum beat of their largest supporters. And the mainstream media hardly ever reports on a story unless there is great tragedy, oddity or celebrity or business star power. This leaves 99%+ of American citizens with little voice and no choice on election day. It also favors election of professional politicians and pitchmen over the innovators we need in office to solve our big problems.”
CitizensReUnited reminds us our government was set in motion by patriots fighting tyranny and for freedom. Our constitution has served as the foundation for all our country’s great success and the freedom’s and liberties we enjoy and take for granted.
Mr. Smith continues “Our founding fathers drafted the constitution to be a document that employed checks and balances to protect the freedom and liberty of all citizens, not just the wealthy and powerful. But today our system of governance has become corrupted by enabling a very few people and corporations with a large bankroll to dominate politics. The bottom 90% of American households earns an average near $30,000/year or $2500/month. Such are the price tags to attend lavish dinners in support of candidates. Without the elimination of influence of big money in politics and commerce, the mass majority of citizens will continue to be left without fair and equal representation in government or opportunity to attain the American Dream.”
Mr. Smith concludes “In times of corruption and tyranny, not unlike in the time of the founding of America, to quote excerpts from our Declaration of Independence “That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness . . . But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."
