Mid-Atlantic GI Consultants to Consult and Treat Saint Francis Healthcare Patients
Wilmington, Delaware (PRWEB) September 27, 2013 -- Saint Francis Healthcare and Mid-Atlantic GI Consultants PA (MAGIC) announce a new relationship that will provide easy access to highly qualified GI physicians and leading edge GI technology for patients with GI conditions. MAGIC, a highly respected independent GI group in Delaware, now provides 24-hour on-call coverage for Saint Francis Hospital’s Emergency Department in addition to performing inpatient and outpatient GI consultations and procedures.
MAGIC includes nine board-certified gastroenterologists and two physician’s assistants. Gastroenterologists are subspecialty physicians who diagnose and treat all GI conditions, including diseases of the esophagus, stomach, intestines, pancreas, liver, and gallbladder.
“In our realignment of resources at Saint Francis, we recognized our physicians and their patients needed more convenient access to the broadest possible array of GI services. We reached out to MAGIC and achieved a mutually beneficial agreement that meets the needs of all concerned,” said Brian Dietz, Interim President & CEO, Saint Francis Healthcare.
“We look forward to collaborating with Saint Francis’ colleagues to extend quality, compassionate care to their patients with GI conditions or diseases,” remarked Dr. Amy Patrick, who co-founded MAGIC in 1995 with Dr. Christopher Ruffini.
MAGIC has established a new office location at Saint Francis Hospital and also sees patients in Newark and Glasgow. The group anticipates opening a satellite office in North Wilmington in the near future. In addition to serving Saint Francis Healthcare, MAGIC provides inpatient coverage to Christiana Care Health System.
“We expect MAGIC’s staff will integrate seamlessly into the Saint Francis environment. And we are confident those physicians and patients relying on Saint Francis for care will see a direct benefit from our alliance with MAGIC,” said Dietz.
