“Everyone that came to shop at Pet Supplies Plus today was so enthusiastic about what we were doing," Joette White, President, Park Cities Pet Sitter, Inc.
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) September 26, 2013
On Saturday, September 21st, 2013, Dallas-based Park Cities Pet Sitter, Inc. held a “Stuff-this-SUV” event at the Pet Supplies Plus store at 6060 E. Mockingbird Lane in Dallas. The “Stuff-this-SUV” event was part of Park Cities Pet Sitter’s Presents-4-Pets initiative, sponsored by the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters.
Sewell Infiniti of Dallas donated use of a new 2014 Infiniti QX80 for the day, to assist Park Cities Pet Sitter in the pet supply drive benefitting the Big Fix for Big D and the Humane Society of Dallas County. The white Infinity QX80 SUV, decorated with balloons, was parked at the Pet Supplies Plus store entrance, and store patrons were given a list of suggested donations as they entered the store and asked to participate if they wished. During the four-hour event, Park Cities Pet Sitter received close to $2000 worth of dog and cat food, cat litter, collars, leashes, treats and pet beds, in addition to receiving over $550 in monetary donations and Pet Supplies Plus gift cards from store customers.
The pet supply drive was especially successful due to the ideal weather conditions, and the presence of the Humane Society of Dallas County’s Adopt-a-Pet team that brought a handful of the shelter’s animals to the location. As Pet Supplies Plus customers exited the store with a donation for the supply drive, a Park Cities Pet Sitter volunteer would honk the horn of the Infiniti QX80 to signal that another donation was being put into the SUV. This typically generated additional claps and shouts of excitement from the HSDC Adopt-a-Pet team members, and barks from the dogs.
Park Cities Pet Sitter President, Joette White, gave full credit to the generous Pet Supplies Plus shoppers and to Sewell Infiniti of Dallas for making the “Stuff-this-SUV” supply drive a success. “Everyone that came to shop at Pet Supplies Plus today was so enthusiastic about what we were doing, and we were blown away by the generous amount of supplies and donations that people were giving, just because we asked.” Ms. White said that having the pristine, brand new Sewell Infiniti QX80 parked in front of the store was also key to the success of the drive. “We kept the back of the QX80 SUV open so everyone could see how much was being donated; we played music from the car’s sound system to keep the volunteers energized; and we honked the SUV horn in recognition and thanks for every single person that donated. It made for a very fun event that everyone really seemed to enjoy.”
Park Cities Pet Sitter will continue to accept pet supplies and monetary donations for Presents 4 Pets until November 1st, 2013. Donations can be brought Monday through Friday from 10am-4pm to 5919 Revere Place, Dallas, TX 75206. Park Cities Pet Sitter clients can also leave donations for their pet sitters to pick up during any regularly scheduled visits during the months of September and October.
