Morgan & Morgan Congratulates Domenico “Nico” Minerva on his Election as Chair of the New York County Democratic Committee
New York, New York (PRWEB) September 29, 2013 -- Morgan and Morgan is proud to announce that attorney Domenico “Nico” Minerva has been elected Chair of the New York County Democratic Committee.
“I am honored that the nearly 3,000 members of the New York County Democratic county committee, New York County Democratic District Leaders, and County Leader Assemblyman Keith L. T. Wright believe in my abilities to competently serve as Chairman to the County Committee,” said Minerva.
A member of Morgan and Morgan’s securities class action group and graduate of Tulane University School of Law, Minerva’s primary focus is on helping clients identify and seek redress for potential fraud. Prior to his election as New York County Democratic Committee Chair, Minerva served as a judicial delegate in the New York County Democratic Party’s Judicial Convention since 2007.
Minerva said that in addition to his practice with Morgan and Morgan, his recent election is the high point of his career.
“With respect to my political accomplishments thus far, I would say this is tops,” Minerva said. “Fortunately for me, the timing is great because my greatest professional accomplishment is also taking place right now—working as an integral member of Morgan and Morgan’s securities class action group.”
Each of the five New York City boroughs—Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island—make up their own individual counties—New York, Bronx, Kings, Queens and Richmond, respectively. Each of these counties has its own Democratic Committee, which serves to represent democrats in their local election district. Because it is the largest in the state, New York County’s votes carry the most weight at New York State Democratic Party conventions. Minerva hopes that this weight help can turn the Committee’s initiatives into reality.
“I am most excited about organizing the committee and unlocking its immense potential by building upon the successes achieved by my predecessors,” Minerva said. “Specifically, I will implement a communication and accountability system that will give us the ability to mobilize droves of people to advance causes and elect candidates that our party supports.”
In addition to the thousands of Democratic County Committee members behind his election, Minerva took the time to thank some important figures within his law career as well, including the former governor of Florida.
“I would like to thank John Morgan, Peter Safirstein, and Chris Polaszek for their continued support of my dedication to public service and for always setting a great example for me,” Minerva said. “I’m also grateful to Governor Charlie Crist for his words of encouragement and advice. And, of course, I have to thank everyone at Morgan & Morgan for creating the best work atmosphere where personal achievements are applauded and colleagues help whenever and wherever possible.”
