Earth Advantage Hosting Eco-Design Collaborative on Green Building
Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) September 27, 2013 -- The Collaborative will allow area building professionals to share recent high performance home challenges and innovations with other professionals in order to collectively problem solve and learn new green building techniques. Attendees will discuss issues and solutions in breakout sessions, providing a collaborative, sharing environment for anyone working in the residential green building industry.
Earth Advantage has continued to foster dialogue and information sharing, along with providing training programs to accelerate the adoption of green building practices, in Oregon and SW Washington as well as throughout the country. The Eco-Design Collaborative is a hint at the widely praised Sustainable Homes Professional (SHP) course taught yearly at Earth Advantage’s Portland classroom. The master green builder Stephen Aiguier, founder and CEO of Green Hammer teaches the interactive six-month course. The course includes classroom instruction on advanced building science and green building techniques combined with site visits to actual projects and guest speaker appearances by award-winning experts. SHP is broken into six separate Friday/Saturday sessions per month to accommodate building professionals work schedules. The latest SHP course begins October 11th, 2013.
Ryan Weeden, owner of Four Square Design Build LLC and an SHP graduate had this to say about the SHP course, “I attribute much of [our] additional sales to the knowledge gained during the SHP course. I have greater confidence and knowledge when discussing energy efficiency, advanced building concepts, solar/alt-energy options and future planning, and, generally, green building as a whole.” To find out more about the Eco-Design ,visit the Eventbrite page: ecodesigncollaborative.eventbrite.com.
