New Inductees Join the AMA Model Aviation Hall of Fame
Muncie, IN (PRWEB) September 30, 2013 -- The Academy of Model Aeronautics has announced its 2013 AMA Model Aviation Hall of Fame inductees.
Seven people have been inducted into the prestigious ranks of the AMA Model Aviation Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame honors men and women who have made significant contributions to the sport/hobby of aeromodeling in volunteer or administrative activities, product development, competition performance, or a variety or combination of activities.
The following individuals are the newest members of the AMA Model Aviation Hall of Fame 2013.

Rex Hinson, Inverness FL
Howard Kelem, Delray Beach FL
Weldon Smith, deceased
Ted Strader, Scotia NY
Larry Wolfe, Lakewood CA
The AMA Model Aviation Hall of Fame was established in 1969 and currently has 300 members. Members are selected by a committee comprising past and present AMA presidents and one individual from each of the 11 districts by its respective vice presidents.
The National Model Aviation Museum, located in Muncie IN, has recently created an AMA Model Aviation Hall of Fame exhibit. Located near the front entrance of the museum, the new exhibit provides a kiosk with highlights of the biographies of hall of fame members as well as a graphic display.
