VelociData Names Former Top Nimsoft and CA Executive Chris O’Malley As New Chief Executive Officer
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) September 30, 2013 -- O’Malley was previously CEO of IT monitoring and service desk market leader Nimsoft and played a central role in its acquisition by CA Technologies. He held a variety of top executive positions at CA—including EVP of the company’s cloud management solutions group and EVP of its core mainframe business unit. He has served on VelociData’s board since September 2012.
O’Malley also serves on the board of Bluenog, an enterprise software and solutions company.
“Having successfully led both traditional mainframe and disruptive cloud/SaaS businesses, Chris is ideally qualified to navigate VelociData through a data operations marketplace that includes multiple generations of computing technologies,” said VelociData Chairman James O’Donnell. “We are very fortunate to have him assume this critical position at such an exciting time in our company’s history.”
As data volume and diversity continue to grow—and as businesses demand faster answers to increasingly complex questions—IT organizations are constantly challenged to grow the capacity and speed of their data operations, despite severe constraints on capital and operational budgets.
VelociData uniquely addresses these financial and technical challenges by delivering solutions that 1) out-perform conventional technologies by up to 1000x and 2) can be acquired on a monthly subscription basis.
“VelociData’s technology radically alters the economics of Big Data performance for our customers, giving them a substantial competitive advantage in today’s analytics-driven global marketplace,” said O’Malley. “I am honored to have the opportunity to build and lead such an important company with such tremendous market potential.”
