Engine Research Associates Expands into Larger Facilities at NIIC, Leveraging New Engine Success
Fort Wayne, IN (PRWEB) September 30, 2013 -- The Northeast Indiana Innovation Center (NIIC) announced today that one if its incubator clients, Engine Research Associates (ERA) is growing and expanding into new, larger facilities in the Innovation Park’s Emerging Growth Center.
ERA is the developer and manufacturer of the Erickson Migrating Combustion Chamber (MCC) internal combustion engine The MCC engine is based on a revolutionary new internal combustion engine mechanism and cycle of operation. This engine is radically different from conventional two-stroke, four-stroke, compression ignition and rotary (Wankel) engine technology. MCC engines have the potential to improve fuel efficiency by 25% or more over current conventional engines due to full expansion. They are also compact, lightweight, low noise, low vibration and high torque.
“We were very pleased with our new facilities here at NIIC,” said Jeff Erickson, ERA Vice-President, “The combination of office space and shop space allows us to build and refine our new engines in the same location. It’s a huge advantage,” Jeff’s brother, Rick Erickson is the company President.
