Colorado Dude Ranch Completes 21st Season with a Full Lodge
Antonito, CO (PRWEB) September 30, 2013 -- The historic Rainbow Trout Ranch, a dude and guest ranch in southern Colorado, hosted their final guests for the 2013 season and closed for the season on September 22nd.
"It was our best season yet since 2009 when we were OK but not great due to the economic situation," says owner Doug Van Berkum. "It was very nice to have most of our cabins filled all summer—we only had two weeks when we weren't full and frankly, that gave us a good chance to recharge our batteries! And having all our cabins booked for our final weeks was the perfect ending to a wonderful year."
He goes on to say, "we always have a great staff but this year we we had our best staff ever and many of them plan to return next year; indeed, many guests have already re-booked for next summer. So things look great for our 2014 season already."
The ranch, which lies in a secluded canyon in south central Colorado, has been welcoming guests since the 1920s. The Van Berkum family took it over in 1993 and turned it into a fledged dude and guest ranch.
Rainbow Trout Ranch is a family owned dude ranch in excellent standing with both the state and national dude ranching associations. The ranch has a long tradition of providing superb western hospitality for families, couples, groups and singles looking for an adventure vacation in the Rocky Mountains of southern Colorado.
