Sports Travel and Tours Launches Big League Baseball Trip to Australia
Hatfield, MA (PRWEB) September 30, 2013 -- With Major League Baseball’s announcement of their opening the 2014 Regular Season in Sydney, Australia for two games between the LA Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks, Sports Travel and Tours, a New England based Sports Tour Operator, is offering a coordinated 13 day trip to see Major League Baseball and to visit the best of Australia. "We saw the chance to offer a few "Bucket List" items our customers dream of," said Jay Smith, President of Sports Travel and Tours. "Our customers tell us that Australia is their ideal destination so to combine baseball with a full tour of Australia seemed to be a natural. Our alliance partner, Anderson Vacations, specializes in Australian Tours so this was a great opportunity to collaborate."
Departing from Los Angeles on March 18th, the tour begins in Sydney with a four night stay at the Park Royal Darling Harbor Hotel, including breakfast each morning and plenty of leisure time for shopping and enjoying the Sydney Harbor culture. The stay includes a tour of Sydney, its famous Opera House, and a spectacular harbor cruise. Saturday and Sunday bring Major League Baseball at the historic Sydney Cricket Grounds.
On Monday the group heads to Melbourne for a three day stay at the Rendezvous Grand Hotel, including visits to the Phillips Island Penquin Parade Tour, the Wetlands, and Church Hill Island, with sightings of kangaroos and koalas along the way. Melbourne is also the home of the Australian Open Tennis Tournament and tours are available for those interested during the built-in leisure time.
The group then flies to Ayers Rock to stay “in The Bush” at the Sail In The Desert Hotel for two nights, including an Uluru/Ayers Rock sunrise tour and the Domes of Mt. Olga/Kata Tjuta, two rock formations which captivate thousands of visitors each year.
The last leg of the trip begins Saturday, when the group flies to Cairns for three nights at the Shangi-La Hotel. A full day Great Barrier Reef Cruise on a 5-star Luxury Cruiser, followed by opportunities for diving, snorkeling, and plenty of leisure time in this unique area brings the climax of our trip. It is then back to Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 1st with amazing stories of our unique experience in the "Land Down Under." With the mix of baseball and Australia this tour is the perfect blend for the travelling sports fan.
