Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Attorney Dan Ujczo will participate in the CN Forum at Michigan State University on October 9-10, 2013.
Mr. Ujczo will lead a panel featuring Former Governor of Michigan and U.S. Ambassador to Canada, Hon. James Blanchard and Vice President of North American Governmental Affairs at CN Railways, Karen Phillips titled “In the Wake of the CN Forum.” The panel will discuss what synergetic transformation looks like and how participants will support the collaborative work of Governors, policymakers, business leaders and universities as they work across communities to transform the Great Lakes Region.
The 2013 CN Forum, hosted by the Canadian Studies Center at Michigan State University, will examine the leading policy agendas developed by the pertinent parties – Government, Business, Research Faculty – and draw together the parties responsible for implementing those plans. The CN Forum will feature organizations and individuals that have experience and expertise in advancing the Great Lakes economic agenda, as well as action-oriented innovators from other regions who will provide perspectives for executing the proposed plans. The conference will draw business leaders and public officials from throughout the Great Lakes states and provinces to examine the “synergetic transformation” in areas such as advanced manufacturing, logistics, information technology, and health systems.
The 2013 CN Forum will feature the following speakers: Bill Rustem, the Director of Strategy for the Michigan Governor, will discuss the plans advanced by the Great Lakes Governors and Premiers during their recent summit on Mackinac Island; the Mayor of Grand Rapids George Heartwell will discuss the efforts by the region’s mayors over recent years; and Ted Abernathy, CEO of the Southern Growth Policies Board, a think tank for the U.S. Southern Governors and former COO of the Research Triangle Partnership in North Carolina, will share his experience on the tools needed for economic growth at the regional level.
