Vivian Bercovici Joins Dickinson Wright LLP as Partner in Toronto

Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) July 17, 2013 -- Dickinson Wright LLP is pleased to announce that Vivian Bercovici has joined the firm’s Toronto office as a Partner.

Ms. Bercovici’s practice focuses on insurance regulatory matters, corporate governance, risk management, libel and slander, privacy, aboriginal law, and public policy and legislative advice. She is familiar with managing the challenges encountered by regulated industries through her previous role as Vice-President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at one of Canada’s largest property and casualty insurers. She also served as a senior policy advisor to the Ontario Minister of Finance. Ms. Bercovici assesses corporate positions and responses with a strong appreciation of the broader business, public policy and communication issues.

Since 2007, Ms. Bercovici has served as a Chief Federal Negotiator, by Ministerial appointment, on various claims made by First Nations against Canada. She also was appointed to the Board of Directors of CBC/Radio-Canada for a five-year term in March 2013. Ms. Bercovici is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Insurance Bureau of Canada, and The Law Society of Upper Canada.

Ms. Bercovici is an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. She speaks frequently at continuing education programs as well as industry events and her articles of various topics have appeared in national newspapers, magazines and the industry press.

Ms. Bercovici received her B.A. from York University and her LL.B. from the University of Toronto.
