National Association of Professional Women Announces Shellie Torres, Chief Financial Officer, U.T. Company LLC, as VIP Woman of the Year

U.T. Company specializes in new construction, HVAC and plumbing. Ms. Torres has been with the company since the beginning and has steadily climbed the corporate ladder. Starting as an office clerk, Ms. Torres demonstrated an ability to work independently. She had an aptitude for numbers and accurate record keeping and maintained a positive work ethic, always staying true to the high standards she set for herself. Those attributes were recognized and valued and so Ms. Torres was given more and more responsibilities.
Now, as the chief financial officer, Ms. Torres oversees all of the company’s financial transactions, manages staff and interacts with outside auditors. Working in a male-dominated field has had its challenges, but Ms. Torres always persevered. She has carved out a successful career in an industry she admires. “We women in the construction industry need to work twice as hard, but also love what we do!” she says.
