Destra Launches As the First Social Enterprise Magazine in the US
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 04, 2013 -- Today marks the official launch of Destra Magazine, a bi-weekly digital publication created to recognize and celebrate good deeds and good people. Whether it be random acts of kindness or individuals and organizations committed to making lifelong change, Destra will tell their stories in an iOS Newsstand app and online at http://www.destramagazine.com.
“Destra Magazine came to life because I wanted to create something that matters,” said Joe Garbarczyk, founder and editor-in-chief. “I didn’t want to create something that people could easily forget. There are still a lot of positive things out there, and I wanted to start a magazine that tells those stories in an impactful way.”
In addition to telling positive stories, Destra is committed to giving up to 50 percent of its profits to organizations that help others. In fact, the announcement of the magazine’s launch also comes with the news of Destra Magazine’s first charity partner, Watsi, a nonprofit organization that uses crowd funding to facilitate medical care in developing countries.
“Destra is more than just a magazine. It’s something that is having a direct, positive impact on people’s lives. Our subscribers can feel good that a relatively small fee is doing something so profound,”Garbarczyk explained. “I admire what Watsi is able to accomplish in terms of helping individuals and also by being very transparent. That’s why I think they’re the perfect partner.”
To subscribe to Destra Magazine, for $2.99 per month or $30 per year, head to the Apple App Store or subscribe online at http://www.destramagazine.com/subscribe.
