Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Attorney Ari M. Charlip will be speaking at the American Conference Institute’s Mortgage Servicing Compliance Conference on November 21-22, 2013 in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Charlip will sit on a panel titled “CFPB Examination Procedures Part 1: Regulation Z – TILA”. The panel will discuss loan servicers’ daily policies and procedures, loan originators’ and servicers’ internal controls, and transactional testing. He will be joined on the panel by Debra Lee Hovatter from Spilman Thomas & Battle PLLC and Christopher Christensen from Peirson Patterson LLP.
Mr. Charlip is a Member in the firm’s Troy office where he focuses his practice on commercial & business litigation, real estate, creditor rights, lender litigation & bankruptcy, and class action. He focuses on representing large financial institutions, mortgage servicers and financial corporations, primarily in litigation. His broad experience in dealing with financial institutions, mortgage servicers and involving real estate assets includes assisting financial institutions through the complicated process of property foreclosure, creditor bankruptcy services in Bankruptcy Court, lien priority disputes, judicial foreclosures, contested evictions (commercial and residential), and adverse possession issues. Other complex litigation matters his practice concentrates on include TILA, RESPA and FDCPA claims. Mr. Charlip is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan Land Title Association, and the Oakland County Bar Association. He received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
