TVision Technology to implement Dynamics NAV at RLSB
(PRWEB UK) 29 November 2013 -- The Royal London Society for Blind People (RLSB) has engaged Microsoft Gold Partner TVision Technology Ltd to supply, implement and support Microsoft Dynamics NAV to replace the Society’s current accounting system which is proving inefficient and is not providing the required level of reporting functionality.
“The current system is difficult to gain management information from and lacks the ability to grow into the project management areas we require,” says Mark Webster, Finance Director of RLSB. “Unfortunately it was not well set up and so is cumbersome and inefficient. The choice was to re-implement or replace.”
With prior experience of working with Dynamics NAV, Mark Webster was confident that it could deliver all that the RLSB needed. As a charity, it was vitally important that the project was cost justified, particularly as the existing system had not been long implemented. The Microsoft “Give Me 5” promotion and a RapidStart implementation approach meant that the new system was far more cost effective than trying to rationalise the old.
Dynamics NAV is Microsoft’s ERP (enterprise resource planning) solution for small to medium sized organisations, typically supporting 5 to 300 concurrent users. It is able address all operational areas including accounts, inventory, manufacturing, projects, sales and marketing, HR and payroll; as many or as few of these functions can be implemented as appropriate.
The ‘Give me 5’ promotion provides the full Starter Pack plus five full users for the cost of just of just one additional user. RapidStart is Microsoft’s process protocol that ensures that new implementations are managed as quickly and effectively as possible.
“We are very pleased to be working with Mark again,” Richard Thompson, MD TVision Technology. “Recommendations and keenness to repeat a partnership all reflect positively on TVision and the value we strive to add for all our clients.”
Microsoft offers discounts to charities and other NGO’s; however, the generic “Give Me 5” promotion provided better value than the generous NGO discount. Price is important, especially to charities as donors prefer investment to be in the cause not the infrastructure. Equally important is value; NAV promotes efficiency through the familiar Windows interface and Microsoft Office integration thus reducing the time and investment spent in user training, which ultimately reduces implementation overheads and ensures as much money as possible goes to the invaluable work and support RLSB provides.
Many charities are using Dynamics NAV; as well as offering great value, its reporting and analysis functionality are an excellent fit to that required by charitable organisations in reporting back to donors on how their money has been spent.
