Girl Scouts of Central Texas (GSCTX) and Wells Fargo & Company today announced their partnership in a financial literacy initiative Wells Fargo joins GSCTX as a 2014 Financial Literacy Community Partner. Hands on Banking is an online curriculum delivered in local Travis county Wells Fargo branches and taught by branch employees. The curriculum will also be available to Girl Scouts online in order to reach all 46 counties served by GSCTX. The program will be expanding to Bryan/College Station and other communities in Central Texas served by Wells Fargo.
Girl Scouts of Central Texas has long been known for its quality programs aimed at helping girls develop leadership skills. Through this strategic partnership with Wells Fargo, GSCTX will now be able to offer this unique financial literacy program developed and offered by the banking institution. This financial leadership partnership is designed to provide girls with the resources and information to become financially responsible women. So far, the response has been overwhelmingly positive—Girl Scouts in Austin have enjoyed the live sessions at Wells Fargo locations. By participating, the girls have earned patches for completing trainings and lessons that will ensure they have the financial knowledge to pave a prosperous path.
