Special Forces Charitable Trust Presents Celebrating the Green Beret Family Awards Dinner on October 16, 2013
Washington, DC (PRWEB) October 01, 2013 -- On October 16, 2013, the Special Forces Charitable Trust will welcome guests including Ross Perot, FOX News Correspondent Allison Barrie, and retired Special Forces soldiers to the Four Seasons Hotel (2800 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC) for the second annual Celebrating the Green Beret Family Awards Dinner.
The evening will begin with a 6:00 pm reception, followed by dinner and program at 7:00 pm. The program will recognize the recipients of the Colonel Martha "Maggie" Raye Award, all who have contributed significantly to the quality of life of our soldiers and their families within their respective five Special Forces groups and two National Guard Units. The Trust will also present the Ross Perot Award for Military Philanthropic Leadership to an individual, organization or business who during the past 12 months exhibited the same strategic and quiet support exemplified by the spirit of Mr. Perot’s work within the Special Forces community. Entertainment will be provided by Melissa Gomez, lead vocalist for the American Military Spouses Choir, an "America’s Got Talent" quarterfinalist.
Proceeds from this dinner enable the Special Forces Charitable Trust to continue a number of programs including: Education and Motivation Programs providing merit-based scholarships for children of active duty Special Forces personnel and spouses; Family and Command Support Programs assisting financially with extraordinary family medical needs and emergencies, supporting command services for Green Berets lost in combat or training, and assisting with special family needs during deployment; and Veterans, Advocacy and Heritage Programs helping families, friends and comrades-in-arms of recovered MIA brothers find closure and assisting Special Forces veterans with VA claims.
"Our dinner in Washington is the Special Forces Charitable Trust’s annual signature event where we recognize the family members in the United States Army Special Forces who are in the fight and who are often forgotten – spouses, children, brothers, sisters, and parents of the Green Beret solider. Our theme for the evening is ‘In a Military Family We All Serve’ and we honor and pay tribute to all Special Forces members, both active and retired," said Terry English, President of the Special Forces Charitable Trust and Retired Green Beret.
Sponsorships and individual tickets range from $1,000 - $50,000. For more information or questions about the Celebrating the Green Beret Family Awards Dinner, contact Holly Johnson at (202) 741-1294 or holly(at)specialforcescharitabletrust(dot)org.
