Military Friendly Employers® Announce Over 110,000 Veterans Hired: 2014 Military Friendly Employers® Survey Now Open
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- Military Friendly Employers®, an elite group of designated companies with leading practices for recruiting and retaining military talent, hired more than 110,000 veterans within the last 12 months, Victory Media announced today. Now in it’s 11th year, the annual survey and list of Military Friendly Employers® represent the top tier of companies with world-class programs for military. The Top Military Friendly Employers® survey for 2014 is now open to all companies, at no cost: http://www.militaryfriendly.com/survey. Deadline for survey completion is Aug. 16.
"The 110,000 number represents actual veterans hired by the top companies doing the most to recruit military talent,” said Sean Collins, Vice President at Victory Media and a nine-year Navy veteran. “This isn’t a pledge, it’s our annual update on what many of these companies have now been doing for over a decade, which is hiring military as a competitive advantage to grow their business(es).”
Companies on the list compete for the Military Friendly Employers® designation via an annual, data-driven survey administered by Victory Media. Eligible companies must have annual revenues over $100 million and are assessed across several categories, including assets dedicated to military recruitment and hiring, Guard and Reserve policies, as well as best practices in retention and employee development. The survey results that comprise the list are independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media. Of approximately 5,000 eligible companies, less than 200 were selected in 2013 to join this elite group, representing the most prominent 5 percent of all corporate recruiting programs aimed at military veterans.
“At GE we are always looking for people of character to lead our teams. Veterans are a great fit in our culture. Being recognized as a Military Friendly Employer® gives GE tremendous visibility when transitioning military personnel are looking for civilian jobs,” said Frank Taylor, Vice President and Chief Security Officer at GE and a retired U.S. Air Force brigadier general.
The new list of Military Friendly Employers® will be published in the December and January issues of G.I. Jobs magazine and hosted on http://www.militaryfriendly.com, as well as various 3rd party media outlets, around Veteran’s Day.
