ABBYY® Delivers Cross-Platform Sharing of Contact Data for Apple® and Android Users
Moscow, Russia (PRWEB) July 01, 2013 -- ABBYY®, a leading provider of document recognition, data capture and linguistic technologies, is pleased to announce the availability of ABBYY Business Card Reader 6.0, the latest version of the iOS software to easily capture and manage contact data from business cards in 21 languages.
Much like ABBYY Business Card 3.0 for Android presented at the MWC 2013, it incorporates Qualcomm’s AllJoynTM technology providing swift sharing of contact data over Wi-Fi among users of iOS and Android editions of Business Card Reader. This next version for iOS also delivers new powerful search and management capabilities, allowing for easy structuring of a large amount of captured data within the application’s built-in storage, the CardHolder.
“We are developing a well-structured working environment for all those seeking to expand their business contact lists and utilize modern technology tools to work with business cards effectively. Today, we are pleased to present a compact solution for cross-platform sharing of contacts among our Business Card Reader users who run Apple and Android-based devices. With this release, they can easily exchange their cards regardless of the platform type," explained Katya Solntseva, Director of Mobile Products Department at ABBYY.
The new version for iOS devices allows users to create personal electronic business cards in different languages for instant exchange via Wi-Fi. Through AllJoyn functionality, all the electronic contacts are wirelessly sent directly from one ABBYY Business Card Reader application to another and saved to the CardHolder storage.
Business Card Reader 6.0 offers an advanced cropping tool that automatically cuts off all the background of the business card’s photo, making it look like a real-life business card in the CardHolder. The updated application also automatically geotags business contacts, so users can track from which regions business cards are most often captured, on the world’s map.
Furthermore, both search-by-date and search-by-keyword functionality are now available.
ABBYY’s Business Card Reader 6.0 provides an enhanced, interactive interface for a better browsing, grouping and sorting experience.
Availability
ABBYY Business Card Reader 6.0 for iOS is available at The App Store (accessible through iTunes®). It is ideal for Apple iPhone 5, 4S, and 4 (iOS 6.0), and partially compatible with the new iPad (3d generation), iPad 4 with Retina display (4th generation), and iPad Mini (autofocus required).
