Simplifile just seemed to be the next logical step to automate our records in Harper County.

Harper County has launched a new electronic recording (e-recording) service at the Harper County Clerk’s office, enabling customers to electronically submit land documents such as deeds and mortgages through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider.

“Simplifile’s integration with the county’s land records system will make the delivery and receipt of public record documents a faster, more efficient process for both the county and its customers,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile.

Harper County Clerk Karen Hickman, who took office this past January, said she first heard about e-recording and Simplifile at a county clerk meeting.

“Simplifile just seemed to be the next logical step to automate our records in Harper County,” said Hickman when asked why the county decided to offer e-recording.

With Simplifile, customers including title companies, banks, attorneys, lien filers and other who submit land and real estate documents to the clerk’s office will find that e-recording yields significantly faster and more cost-effective results, as mail and postage fees are eliminated as well as reduced paper and fuel.

Harper County is the 34th Oklahoma county to begin e-recording with Simplifile and joins more than 900 counties nationwide who have also transitioned to e-recording the majority of their records.

Simplifile provides free training for new and interested users who wish to submit documents electronically to Harper or any county within its e-recording network. Call 800-460-5657 or visit simplifile.com for more information.
