National Association of Professional Women Announces Anna M. Tusa, Director of Operations, The Crazy Lobster & Poppy's Sports Bar, as VIP Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) December 05, 2013 -- NAPW honors Anna M. Tusa as a 2013/2014 Professional Woman of the Year for leadership in restaurant management with this prestigious distinction. As the largest, most-recognized organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional women is a vibrant networking community with nearly 500,000 members and over 400 Local Chapters.
“I have been in the restaurant management business since 1995 and love everything about it!” says Ms. Tusa. The manager of two highly successful restaurants in New Orleans, Ms. Tusa skillfully blends her years of industry knowledge and exceptional business acumen to make every customer feel special at both The Crazy Lobster and Poppy’s Sports Bar.
Ms. Tusa wears many hats in her role as director of operations. She expertly manages a staff of nearly 150 employees, and oversees revenues, payroll, marketing and advertising for both restaurants. Additionally, Ms. Tusa handles all aspects of catering, including selling, planning and executing events that could include anywhere from 50 to 1,000 guests. “I also plan and review budgets, sales projections and P&L’s,” she adds.
An aspect of her job Ms. Tusa enjoys most is developing and guiding the industry’s next generation of food service workers. They are clearly thriving under the direction from one of the best in the industry: The Crazy Lobster recently earned the 2013 Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence and both restaurants were selected to host teams for the 2012 Men’s Final Four and 2013 Women’s Final Four. With an eye to the future, Ms. Tusa looks forward to connecting with other NAPW members to “gain more exposure and develop professional relationships to help build business.”
