About Austin Blades
Since 2005 the Austin Blades Disabled Sled Hockey Team, an Official Chapter of STARSkaters.org 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has served as Austin's only sled ice hockey team. Sled hockey is a sport that allows individuals with impaired mobility an opportunity to participate in the fast-paced sport of ice hockey. Players sit in sleds with sharp blades on the bottom. In their hands, they hold sticks that allow them to play the puck and to propel themselves up and down the ice. When the Austin Blades play, the pace is intense.
