Kemstar Media Inc. Signs Publishing Agreement with Colombia-Based Publishing Company, Panamericana Editorial for Spanish Translation of Chronicles of Piye Graphic Novel
Toronto, Ontario and Nashville, Tennessee (PRWEB) June 19, 2014 -- After a few months of negotiations, Kemstar Media Inc. and Panameriricana Editorial Ltda. have agreed on the terms for the Spanish language publishing rights for the graphic novel, Chronicles of Piye: The Awakening. (The graphic novel's title in Spanish is; "Las Crónicas De Piye:El Despertar"). The Spanish language rights to the graphic novel were acquired by Panamericana Editorial for the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Perú, Uruguay, Venezuela, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Panama, México and the United States.
Kemstar Media's writer/producer for this project, Richard Gaskin, who was the front man for the months-long negotiations with Panamericana Editorial explains why they were a good fit for Kemstar Media's bid to access markets for Spanish speakers in South and Central America, as well as the United States.
"We were aware that we had a substantial number of Spanish speaking fans of The Chronicles of Piye graphic novel in Latin America. For this reason, we were looking to partner with a publishing company that had experience in selling publications to a youth market not only in their home country but also to international Spanish language markets. Panamericana Editorial was the first Colombian publishing company of literature for children and youth so it was obvious they had the ability to market the graphic novel to our target audience. They also have a lot of experience since they have been in the publishing industry for over 23 years and have a catalog of over 3,000 titles catering to all audiences. Panamericana also produces over 200 new titles a year (with their own team of writers and illustrators) which have gotten national and international recognition which shows that they have been successful in marketing publications aimed at a youth market . So with all of these elements in place, it's easy to see why I felt that Panamericana Editorial would be an excellent company to introduce the Spanish language version of the Chronicles of Piye graphic novel to Latin American and US markets."
On other developments related to international publishing, Gaskin is continuing talks with a prestigious publishing house in South East Asia about the possibility for distribution of a translated version of Chronicles of Piye graphic novel in that country. It is hoped that the substantial number of Chronicles of Piye fans from that region will help persuade the publishing house to distribute the graphic novel. Stay tuned for further details.
